“Research Exemplars” Article Published in PLOS ONE
In an article published in PLOS ONE, “The lab management practices of “Research Exemplars” that foster research rigor and regulatory compliance: A qualitative study of successful principal investigators,” P.I. Program faculty, Dr. Alison Antes and Dr. James DuBois, report on practices linked to rigorous research and compliance in research labs. Their team interviewed 52 principal investigators nominated for their scientific accomplishments and reputations for professionalism and integrity to identify practices linked with rigor, compliance, and good workplace relationships.
This article emphasizes the importance of creating a research environment with regular communication at team meetings, active supervision and guidance, and shared ownership and accountability.
